Whisky enthusiasts are set for a spirited adventure as The Malt Affair Volume 8 hits Singapore on 2 November 2024, Saturday. Designed “by maltheads for maltheads”, the close-knit community event promises a highly anticipated exploration of over 400 whiskies from 21 exhibitors, with Diageo Rare & Exceptional joining the lineup for the first time as official bottler.
 

The Malt Affair Volume 8 will also welcome international whisky wizards, including Dutch authority Michiel Wigman, Japanese luminaries Hideo Yamaoka and Tatsuya Minagawa, and Italian specialists Max Righi and Enrico Gaddoni.

Held at the Amara Singapore Ballroom, entry tickets to The Malt Affair Volume 8 are available at $15 per person. Visitors will gain access to over 400 whiskies, with prices ranging from $5 to $2000 per 20ml pour.

While the lineup features rare vintage whiskies from the 1950s-1980s and cult Japanese labels, 70% of the whiskies are priced below $50 per pour, ensuring there is something for every palate. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own glassware or purchase a Luigi Bormioli snifter glass on-site for $10.

A Spirited Gathering of Whisky Lovers
Launched in 2017 by four passionate whisky advocates, The Malt Affair is fuelled by a desire to foster connection and discovery within the whisky community. Co-founder Billy shares, “The Malt Affair Volume 8 is your ticket into the fascinating world of whisky. We feature rare distilleries, special vintages, and collectible spirits that are often difficult to come by. At the same time, we celebrate not just the spirit, but the connections it fosters. It is a heartfelt gathering where enthusiasts can share stories, sip remarkable drams, and create lasting
memories with like-minded individuals.”
 

The coterie of exhibitors spans respected whisky bars, independent bottlers, whisky distributors, private collectors, a whisky club, and an online auction. Look out for The Single Cask, known for its exclusive single cask bottlings around the world; and Catawiki, which will showcase hard-to-find whiskies like Bowmore 1956 OB, Longmorn 1969 Cask, Mortlach 1970 16yo Intertrade, and Clynelish 1972. Other exhibitors, such as
Animal Spirits, Friends with Drams, Proof & Company, Rudder and Simplywhisky.sg bring their own portfolio of signature and vintage collections to add depth and diversity to this year’s edition.

Diageo’s private client team, Diageo Rare & Exceptional, will present some of the world’s most highly coveted brands, including Mortlach, Talisker, The Singleton, Lagavulin, as well as legendary ghost distilleries such as Brora, and the recently restored and revived Port Ellen.
